What are we missing on the developer's list? u might want to have a WANTED list? and is there activision members lurking on this forum seeing wth is going on here?

Kindly, delete if inappropriate....

Admin edit: It's a very good question! And very appropriate, so appropriate that it very well deserves a topic dedicated to it Wink

its all possible really.

we could always have another workaround, like have wanted list and send PM to Rave would filter a bit.. or those that we know who are actually helping.. even though we cant really tell since we dont know eachother much eiter Tongue

Very good question! And very approriate in the old topic, but I think you got a good point that very well deserves a topic.

So let's try to set a list of skills we'd be idealy be looking for when it comes to developers for this project. Perhps that'l make it easier to get an idea of where to look for them / promote this project.

I'll make a start with:
  • Programmers with Unreal 3/UDK engine or modding experience
  • Programmers with Battlezone programming experience
  • BZ veterans or just developers with Battlezone modding experience
  • Programmers with game logic, 3d, interface programming experience

^ i dunno where will we get programmers aboard? I dont know much people that r this heavy duty when it comes to those skills..  Lets put the corner stone of this project 1st so we can stand on something solid.. I will see what i could find but i think we need quite good professionals.. Again, delete if inappropriate..

How about forums like BZ Universe for BZ vets and UT3, Unreal 3 modding communities? Also modding communities in general. I'm looking into this right now.  Wink

We also need:

* Sound engineer - to create the sound effects
* AI developer
* 3D model developer - to create 3D models of units, buildings etc. along with texture maps

This is a great Wikimedia article about game development and the roles involved, but hopefully much of this will be taken care of by the UDK.

Hello peoples,

I have worked with many game engines and very familiar with SDKs. If you need any help in C, Java, Web Dev, Level Design, 3d Modeling, Textures, or whatever I can help.

I'm also preparing a simple thread that will talk about my thoughts on Battlezone 3. Hopefully the ideas and the games I mention will give people a sense for a high-quality game.

I also noticed you mentioned the Unreal engine. Did you purchase a commercial licensing for that? or what do you mean by "Programmers with Unreal 3/UDK engine or modding experience"?

I've studied and done alot of work with Game Design also. I went to school at Collins College but after 7 years game industry I opt'd out. I'm now working on my masters in electrical engineering and bachelor in computer science.

As far as vfx and modeling I've worked a few private films and also have done quite a few conceptual design for new technology and architectural design.

I also do short film productions  professionally on the side so I'm also competent with cinematography.

I have a webpage that is under-development but sorta works in IE8 its www.mountainlionstudio.com

if you want any other information just email me and I'll give you more information.

Hi Folks!

i'm BW  and i'm just a real BZ (Mostly BZ1 by Activision, even if BZ2 has some good ideas too) fan.

I've posted a message about the game engine tonight, where i also exposed some of my ideas. You can go and check for it.

As i told in my other message, i think about making a game the simplier it can be, just as well as BZ1 used to be. I don't want a huge realistic game with survey, economy, grades... I want, or imagine, just another fun and addictive BZ game concept. BZ1 is, for me, the best exemple.

All that things about develloping a game is really new for me.
Of course i've got some ideas i've to expose to you all lately and in another topic.

All the things about programming really bores me. I'll let this for the ones mastering it.

But what's about designin' ships and buildings really sounds good to me. Even is i'm not a skilled man at this, i'm sure i can do some quite good stuff if i train a bit.
I have ideas, that's a good start.
Anyway i'm already training, cause i'm working on a new Grizzly Tank 3D rendering. I'll post it when it will be ready, and i've to work hard. But i sincerly motivated to help you guys.

Well, now you know i'm working to remaster BZ1 units and create few new ones.
Hope it'll help.

Laters guys.

Hey,

I might be interested in helping out, but I think that there might be a problem with people not being located in one place. Intellectual property and financing has to be sorted out first too.

I'm studying for a MSc in engineering physics and got a lot of programming experience in primarily C++/Java/Delphi and designing computer simulations. I've got experience in DirectX-programming and created an engine for a hobby 3D-FPS game a few years ago. But cross-platform games require OpenGL.

I like the mix of strategy and FPS in Battlezone, and think that that is a more or less unique feature or genre which could be expanded upon.

GameDev.net is where many developers hang out.
Though it may be worth putting a little something together before making a post, to show that this project is serious & people don't get put off.

I've seen we have a few Programmers & Modellers, but I haven't seen any Texture Artists, which are nesessary for a good-looking game.

I'm new to this site, but I do spend a lot of time modeling for CBP® Revisioned™ and recently started a project I call "BattleZone HD"

I'm taking roughly 165 models into account and can model in great detail (taking graphics in the game into account) and can provide them in a wide range of 3D formats including every thing from skp (original models) to 3ds and much more.

I'd be more than glad to help with this since Battlezone is my all time fave Cheesy

Great to hear! Smiley But I'd like to ask you to post in the Developers Listing thread instead. Here we keep a good clear overview of everyone interested, in a format that is more helpful to us.

Keep an eye on this forum, might get up to some stuff pretty soon.
