My first post on these forums, although I've been browsing quite awhile! And this is the whole reason I joined so...

Real Name: Brennan
Location: United States
Occupation: high school  Undecided

Skills:
I have basically no knowledge of programming, graphics, etc., but a game is more than just that right? I can make .odfs if needed, I can beta test for XP compatibility, I can make voiceovers for missions, and even compose the soundtrack using Sibelius for the game if so needed. My skills are very limited compared to others, but I still have some valuable components to offer (in my opinion anyway).

Dedication:
Like some others said the only time I spend on BZ is free time, and this is simply because I'm still in school. Loads of homework (often over 5 hours) after 7 hours in school doesn't leave a lot of time for games of any sort. However, on the weekends, during the summer, and after school on light homework days I would be willing to spend the free time working on this project.

My most proficient skill out of those I listed is composing and arranging music on Sibelius. I do it all the time (I'm doing it right now), and I am fairly proficient at it. Every game needs a soundtrack right? I could easily write some in-game, menu and campaign music to add another element to the game.

The next most important skill out of my bag (so to speak) is voiceovers. They are crucial for making a game and enhancing its atmosphere/immersiveness. I would be more than willing to take the time this summer to learn how to use Audacity or a similar program to make realistic, clean sounding voiceovers.

The only programming I know how to do (if you can call it that) is with basic BZ Notepad files (.odf, .inf, .des, and the like). If you need someone to make a basic unit file or what have you, I can do it as long as I know what kind of coding language (same as BZ1 or other) is being used. However, I'm only half sure I'd be good at it and not make a monumental mess of it.  Embarrassed So use with caution.  Cheesy

Obviously anyone can beta test, but I don't know how many of you still run XP, but I do, so if you need an XP (more specifically XP Pro) beta tester, I'm there.

References:
Involving BZ? None. I've only recently been introduced to the internet BZ community, and as such haven't really had a chance to help out with projects. This will be my first one.

I have made some custom BZ1 units that work perfectly though, as well as modified Single Player missions.  Wink If you can call that a reference.

I'm really hoping that all of us can pool our skills to make this project a reality. It will be great if it is completed. I hope that my skills (what little there are to go around) can contribute even a little to the success of this project.

Hey. My name is Sam, and i'm a Swede. I have been wishing for a revival of this game since i first played BZ1, there is a lot of untapped potential here. I'm soon finished with my master in chemical engineering and as a result of that i am very knowledgeable in mathematics and statistics. However my passion in my spare time is games, game systems and the study of them. I'm an avid boardgamer, and have created and played games my whole life. I take a very objective approach and try to find the raw elements that make up a good game.

Skills:
- Previous experience with game development include the successful HL2 mod Eternal Silence. My role on the team has been game balance and leading the team of beta testers. Game design is my main skill and a result of lots of experience.
- Leadership and organization skills due to leading the beta testers and used to working with an organized and dedicated team.
- Mathematical analysis skills which has proven useful for game testing numerous times.
- I'm a brainstormer. I sprout out ideas as they come, and only though discussion can one really pick what should be implemented and tested.
- Mapping with hammer, mostly for study of level mechanics but also becasue the team needed mappers at the time. I have created numerous maps for ES which can be seen in-game. I pick up and learn stuff quickly.

Dedication:
- I want to see this project done. Period. I can contribute my skills with gameplay concepts and structure.

Hey Guys.

I stumbled across this site while searching in vein for some rumors of a BZ3 (given all the recycled IP's at this years E3).

I'm 24y/o Australian with way too much time on my hands. I was a huge fan of BZ2 back in the day (my speciality was the laser/rocket scout, and sniping Smiley).

I was wondering if i could contribute some concept art and/or promotional art to this most noble cause. I also have some experience with high poly modelling software like Mudbox and Zbrush (handy for making 'normal maps' very quickly). I've dabbled in 3DS and Maya too.

Basically, I'm going to be drawing concept art for this regardless of if you want to use it or not Cheesy. Cause hovering space-tanks are made of win.

Oh, right, example of my work. Well i haven't really done much in a while. This is a WIP that i was planning to build in 3DS max, but as you can see, i'm still trying to nut out the design (it's no where near being a finished concept, it's just cue's, I was planning on finishing it as a modeled it).

Cool site design btw.

Hey my names Jared Lefebvre and i am very interested in this project. I currently am living in Calgary Alberta Canada.
My Skills include texturing/skinning, story-writing, i have some pencil artistic skills so i could also be doing concept art for this project.
Most of my skills reside in art and storywriting although if theres anything people need help with i can take a look at what it is and do my best

Taken Multimedia and Art courses, have some artwork i could possibley show off and i could defenitly help out with the storyline and script writing for the story. I have a love for making homemade movies so scriptwriting could also be useful for when the project gets to that point.

I've been playing bzone 1 since i was really young and battlezone 2 was introduced to me like 4-5 years back aswell. I do alot of projects in my free time just to improve on my skills and if im in a inspiration like mood.

Hey guys, first off I am a 23 year old graphic design student from Richmond, Virginia.

1. Skills: I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop/ InDesign/ Illustrator. I have experience with freehand illustration, graphic design and photography. I have worked for several design and marketing agencies in Richmond and have completed over twenty freelance projects in the area. I believe my skills would be best put to use for the concept art development, helping in art direction and skinning.

2. Dedication: I work Monday through Friday. My evening after 5:30pm are free and weekends are free. 20 evening hours total on weekdays and about 15 hours on weekends.

3. I have two portfolios. One for submitting to employers, one for school. My Carbonmade portfolio branding projects I have done for local Richmond businesses. Cloud is a good example of my ability to plan and execute a given brand for a company.

Employer Portfolio: http://erichayesportfolio.carbonmade.com/

Art / School Portfolio: http://artoferichayes.carbonmade.com/

I will be honest with all of you, I am very excited for this mod. Although alot of work is ahead of us, I personally believe where there's a will there's a way. If we are organized, disciplined, dedicated and realistic, we will have a third battlezone on our hands.

Sign me up as coder.

I'm a 22 years old computer science student from Israel. I'm pretty good at Java, which is almost identical to the UDK's language. Next semester starts at October, and I have no job, so I need something to do.

Ah well, why not

Real Name: Amrish Basdew
Age: 22
Location: The Netherlands

I am a gamer. I've been playing a lot of games in the past few years, from many different genres. I haven't been just playing, but mostly finding out what game makes good, and what doesn't. You could say I'm quite specialized in what a game makes fun and what not, in why people keep playing that one game, or what elements of the game makes it interesting and the likes.

I also have basic understanding of AI, and might be of help on that level. Not as a programmer, but more about the way the AI thinks and works.

Several years of experience in Photoshop/Cinema 4D let me also be a help with texturing and perhaps even modelling, even though I mostly modelled abstracts and the likes.

Last but certainly not least, I'm quite experienced with composing songs; I've been playing the piano for over 18 years now, and composed many songs on the piano. I also have experience in Sibelius, making midi's, but I guess we want something better for the BGM right? Wink

Works
http://thasprout.deviantart.com/gallery/ - most of my graphic works are found here.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZOD9R3W9 - Some of the songs I've composed for various games(mostly RPGs and Adventure)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzk36unCQ9I - Another song I composed on the Piano
